Kathy Morris, LCSW

About Kathy

Kathy Morris is a seasoned clinical social worker with more than 30 years of rich experience in various mental health settings. Holding a BA in Psychology and an MSW in Clinical Social Work, Kathy has devoted her career to serving diverse populations ranging from children to adults across inpatient psychiatric facilities, community mental health centers, domestic violence shelters, and outpatient substance abuse programs.

Originally from rural West Virginia, Kathy's journey in mental health has taken her through major metropolitan areas such as Chicago and Washington D.C. In 2013, she moved to Cody, Wyoming, with her husband, where she has since been a vital part of Cody Regional Health's Behavioral Health Department.

For the past 20 years, Kathy has specialized in outpatient counseling for adults, focusing on psychotherapy aimed at helping individuals navigate and overcome the obstacles that hinder their desired quality of life. 

These challenges may manifest as mood or behavioral changes, relationship issues, loss, health complications, caregiver stress, phase-of-life transitions, or trauma.

Kathy is proficient in a multitude of therapeutic techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), solution-focused therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and attachment-based approaches. Her therapeutic philosophy is centered on creating an environment where individuals feel heard, understood, and respected. Passionate about enhancing her clients’ innate gifts and resilience, Kathy is committed to restoring and strengthening their sense of self, facilitating not just recovery but profound personal growth.
