About Erik

Dr. Erik Goodwyn is a highly accomplished physician with a unique background in medicine, psychology, and the humanities. Originally from Louisville, KY, Dr. Goodwyn served in both the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force. He holds dual bachelor's degrees in Physics and Mathematics from Western Kentucky University, where he graduated as Scholar of the College, and a Master's degree in Anatomy and Neurobiology from the University of Louisville.

Dr. Goodwyn has extensive experience in outpatient and inpatient care and brings a holistic approach to his practice. In addition to his medical expertise, he is a prolific author, having published numerous works in consciousness studies, Jungian psychology, neuroscience, mythology, and the psychology of religion. He serves as co-editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Jungian Studies and has presented over 60 lectures and workshops worldwide, including in the U.S., Germany, Switzerland, and Ireland.

When he’s not caring for patients, Dr. Goodwyn enjoys hiking, camping, creative writing (including a published fantasy novel), Irish folk music, and complex board games. His diverse interests and dedication to both science and the arts make him an exceptional addition to Cody Regional Health.
